Element 1.3: Describe and apply motor development theory and principles related to skillful movement, physical activity, and fitness.
Date: Spring 2010
Reflection: My ability to describe and apply motor development theories and principles was assessed in PED 201 lab. The lab was held at Saint Mary's after school program where children of all different ages participated in the actitivites I had arranged to test their skill level in a variety of different movement catergories. Through using a mixture of movement patterns I was able to see where each child fit in with their age group and if they were developing physical skills at a successful age-related rate. In understanding the child's ability to perform the intended skill I can help the child improve or build onto that skill.
